via Flickr: This Cooper’s hawk was spotted by my wife in the shallow water. I thought the bird was about to bathe but to our amazement, the bird just dipped its butt and tail feathers in the water, swished these back and forth for a short while and then took off to dry the butt and the feathers on low branches.

Apparently this is how a red-tailed hawk responded to the photographer’s attempt at an osprey call.
